Marketing in media

Today in lesson we learnt some facts about Marketing in the media and to display the information clearly I decided to use a pie chart. The pie chart shows that in the British Film Industry 10%  were UK independent films, 34% were made in the UK but backed by American companies and 51% were films made in the USA.

By looking at these statistics it clearly shows how the American film industry is still dominant even over the British Film market. We clearly see that British films which are backed by American companies (such as Warner Bro's) are much more successful than UK independent films (such as Film 4 productions).

Cross Media Convergence is...

2014 saw a record year for British Films...
  • UK Box Office receipts of over £1,000,000,000,000.
  • Over £1,000,000,000,000 spent on productions shot in the UK.
  • Amount of films being made in the UK is up to35%.
  • UK productions had a market share of 16% : co- productions 28%.
  • Highest ever market share of UK audience.

An example of cross media convergence is...
  • JK Rowling released a new edition of fantastic beasts' as a book.
  • The book accompanies a new 5 part film series.
  • Pottermore - JK Rowling's website which has everything that Rowling has done.
  • Eddie Redmayne reading Fantastic Beasts was the fastest selling pre-order of a audio book.
