Nerve textual analysis (Art Of The Title)

Image
Hello Everyone welcome back!   I was asked to use art of the title to explore a title sequence and see what was good about it and how different things used had different effects on the audience's.  I decided to look at the title sequence for 'Nerve' which shows many different social media platforms. This shows a Microsoft Word effect which creates a certain sense of familiarity to the audience and makes it relatable from the very beginning. By doing this it could catch their attention as it infers it may be based in recent day so they can relate. This shows many different adverts flashing up on the screen uncontrollably, showing that a virus or something may be involved in this film and maybe someone loses control of their social media, promoting a worry for the audience as the media and especially social media plays a huge part in the everyday lives of a large majority of the population. This looks like the cut out of a news paper article showing...

Preliminary Evaluation

We were asked to make a preliminary evaluation video but our group struggled with the filming and editing of it, mainly because we couldn't take each other seriously! o we decided in the end that we would make our own preliminary evaluations because it was easier. i decided to do mine in the form of a powerpoint presentation because it was different! Our preliminary task

Image
This is our preliminary task, we had a issue with missing files and it took longer to complete than we originally thought. I feel we got the continuity right and we managed to get some good shots, one of our group (Grace) did more editing where as me and Eleanor did a lot of the camera work, so next time I need more experience of editing. The benefits of working with the camera has now enabled me to feel like I can set up a shot on my own without needing help.

Story Boarding

Image
Hi Everyone and welcome back to my blog! so before our preliminary task we were asked to plan a storyboard, of what we were thinking of doing for our film, this benefited us because it helped us to keep to a certain story in case we began adding things in half way through that would just delay us in the producing process. It made it so much easier in the long run! I thought it would be easier to present this through a online storyboard, also I thought it seemed more creative!                                                                                      ...

The setting for our preliminary task

Image
Hello everyone! so we were asked to take some photos of the setting where we filmed out preliminary task. when we were looking for the perfect setting we looked for a few key elements, these were: a plain room with some white washed walls so that it was easier to film and edit, we also looked for a small space so that it was enclosed to add effect to the filming, lastly we looked for somewhere with stairs and railings so it would be easier to film when Grace ran off from Tahlia.   this was the table we used and the side of a stair well, the effect of the railing helps to add to the rough and unorganised look we were going for. Also the plain walls help with editing.  this is also the table we used but from looking down at the floor which is rough looking and the mat at the back which is also dirty adds to the effect of a rough area.  these were the 2nd set of stairs which Grace runs up to escape from Tahlia, the rough wood effect on the railing was...

Utopia Analysis

Hello Everyone and welcome back to my blog!  In order to learn and get more of a in-depth look at post production we were given a Utopia article to analyse and the amount of work that is actually put into producing is crazy! From correcting all things like colour enhancing all the backgrounds to make the place fit the storyline better and then it goes to deciding what shot to use which would make the scene look better. The main shock for me was finding out that you can completely change the colour of an object it if doesn't fit the colour trend that the programme is wanting. The directors decided to use the use of extravagant colours to their advantage and by doing this is also makes their programme look unusual and attracts the attention of more of the audience. From reading this article it really shows the lengths my group can go to when filming our clips and it allows us to get experience for tasks in the future. it has benefitted me because I f...
